Tricky

I think my scale was playing tricks on me. I weighed myself when I returned from my big anniversary trip {169.5} but when I did a mid-week check, I was over 170! How disappointing. Lately my motto has been: Keep. Moving. Forward. And really that is what I am doing. What's done is done. This is not a race. This is my life. This is not a race. I think I need some refocusing time. I probably should write down some short-term goals, take a look at where I've been, and remind myself of where I'm going. All this Thanksgiving menu planning can't be helping my psyche either. Too many food thoughts. Looking forward to weigh-in on Sunday. Hoping the first two numbers are 1 and 6. Until then....

A few questions to possibly clear up the scale attack! LOL

1. Did you change something that you were doing??? i.e.-weigh in at a different time of day, wear more clothes...

2. You don't have to really answer this... but are you going to be getting AF? It makes a huge difference!

I think writing down your short-term goals (and long ones too) is a good idea. Looking back is good but don't stay there... Keep looking forward! This is a journey that you want to keep moving forward in. One of the things that I always say to myself when I'm having a hard is, "I'm not going back.... I will not going back!" There is a bigger picture here and writing down what that big picture (or long term goal) will help you stay focused on reaching it. Taking it one day at a time!

Well thanks for all the great support!!

@Erin: I always weigh when I first wake-up, nekkid. And thanks for suggesting it might be AF! {It's not.} I wasn't drinking as much water over the weekend as I should've been, so I'm wondering if I just weighed less than what I really "should have" when I returned because I was a bit dehydrated? Then when I started back to getting good fluids, my weight just went up??

@Hol: Thank you! Your words really mean a lot to me. I think your/my motto of "Keep. Moving. Forward." or "I'm not going back" really helps to stay focused & mentally not even allow ourselves to "go there". I will be writing down some goals & posting them to stay on track!

@Alicia: Glad we're two fish in the same river, even if it does feel like we're swimming against the current sometimes :>)

It can take up to 2 weeks for the scale to show a change when you've splurged a little. But don't get discouraged because if you Keep Moving Forward, you'll be in a better place than if you had dwelled!
